Meet Chef Esther
Metheq Cuisine started with Chef Esther, a Nigerian cook who grew up making the food she serves today. She and her husband named it Metheq, the Hebrew word for sweetness, as a promise for what every plate should be.
Esther grew up in Nigeria, in a home where big pots of jollof, pepper soup and stew meant the family was together. She trained in culinary school and cooked in professional kitchens before starting Metheq, and she still makes the classics the way she learned them.
Today, Metheq cooks for the moments that matter: weddings, corporate events, private dinners and family celebrations across Guelph, Kitchener-Waterloo, Cambridge and Southern Ontario. We also bake fresh pastries, prepare homemade bowls and trays, and run weekly meal prep for busy households. The goal is simple: bring real Nigerian food to more Canadian tables.
